Why did Jesus perform so many miracles?
Jesus came into the world as the promised Messiah the Jews had been waiting on for a long time. Jesus did so many miracles because the Jews seek after signs from God (1 Corinthians 1:22). Since Moses Israel looked to people from God to show them a sign from God to prove that they were actually doing God’s work (Exodus 4:8). The miracles were done to bear witness that Jesus was from God (John 10:25). They also showed that Jesus was in the Father and the Father in Him; that they are One (John 10:37-38). However, the Jews saw all the works that Jesus did and hated Him and the Father because of them and rejected the Messiah (John 15:24). However, all of this was predicted in the Old Testament so that Jesus could save the human race from sin (Isaiah 52:13-53:12).
