Should Christians seek after happiness?

Interestingly enough, people who seek after their own happiness, with happiness as the end result, never succeed in being happy.  The pursuit of happiness in itself will never satisfy because people keep looking to other things (money, power, etc.) thinking that the culmination of these will make them happy.  But our own happiness is not what we are to seek out as Christians.  We should seek after making God happy with the way we live our lives and how we treat others.  By doing the things that God wants us to do and living a life for Him, this is how we will find true happiness, and much more than that, joy (Proverbs 16:20).
