Should Christians fight for political rights?

Many people are worried about losing freedoms promised to us by the government in recent times.  Christians have become very outspoken in demanding political rights from the government and some are even outright hostile and speak along the lines of government overthrow.  The problem with this latter part is that it goes against God’s Word.  The Bible tells us to be subject to the higher powers (Romans 13:1) and to pray for those in authority so we can live a peaceable life (1 Timothy 2:1-2).  While many Christians are fighting for what they feel they deserve, how hard are they trying to spread God’s Word to the lost in these trying times.  If we truly “fought for our rights, we would be in Hell tonight (Lecrae).”  Let’s worry less about being political and more about being used by God to see souls saved.
