Are Christians not supposed to judge?

The Bible states in Matthew 7:1 that we are not to judge others, unless we want to be judged.  Many people just want to stop with just this one verse but Jesus is not done talking in the passage.  The entire passage is about not judging other hypocritically.  The parable of the mote and the beam shows us that if we have a big sin in our life we should not be trying to correct someone who is only doing something that seems small.  We need to clean up our own lives first and then we will be able to see clearly to help others overcome their problems as well (Matthew 7:3-5).  And Christians are allowed to judge as long as it is righteous judgment (John 7:24, 1 Corinthians 6:3).
