Should we listen and follow just any preacher?

There are many “preachers” in the world today that are spreading a message different than the true gospel of Christ.  Many preach prosperity by giving money, being a motivational speaker, and speaking heresies through denying the truth of scripture.  While God’s Word will not return unto Him void (Isaiah 55:11), we are not to listen to these people and are to flee from them (2 Timothy 3:1-5).  We have been warned that there will be false teachers come and preach heresy and we need to keep our eyes open so we are not deceived (2 Peter 2).  Remember judge all things and to try the spirits to see if they are truly of God or not (1 Corinthians 2:13; 1 John 4:1).
