Should we be afraid of Satan?

The Bible tells us to not fear what man can do to us (Hebrews 13:6), nor are we to fear anyone or anything that can kill our body but not our soul (Matthew 10:28).  As born-again children of God we are to find our strength through Christ (Philippians 4:13) and we should bask in the love of our Savior at all times (1 John 4:18).  While we should not fear what Satan can do to us here on the earth, we should have a certain respect for him.  Satan is a very powerful being who is deceitful, manipulative, and destructive (Genesis 3:1; Job 1:9-11; 2:4-5); a murderer, liar, thief, and blasphemer (John 8:44; 10:10); a very powerful adversary who has been corrupting mankind for thousands of years and is very good at what he does (2 Corinthians 4:4).  We should not challenge Satan or his cohorts outright because we cannot defeat them ourselves.  Instead cling to God, stay near to Him, and through Christ the devil will flee from us (James 4:7).
