Do you have to be baptized in order to be saved?

When people think of baptism they generally only think of water baptism.  However the Bible speaks of 3 different baptisms:  water, Holy Spirit, and fire (Matthew 3:11).  While water baptism is mentioned in the New Testament, the baptism that is mentioned the most is through the Holy Spirit (Romans 6:3-4; 1 Corinthians 12:13; Galatians 3:27; Ephesians 4:5; Colossians 2:12)  Being baptized by the Holy Spirit means that when you accept Christ the Holy Spirit completely fills you and indwells within you.  This gives you the second birth, makes you a new creature, regenerates you, and gives you new life.  Water baptism is only a picture of what happens spiritually; and baptism by fire is for those who reject Jesus.  So yes you do need to be baptized in order to be saved; not by water, but by the Holy Spirit.
