Why did God tempt Abraham when the Bible says that God doesn’t tempt anyone?

In Genesis 22:1 the Bible says that God came and tempted Abraham, but in James 1:13 it states that God tempts no man with evil.  There are no contradictions in the Bible, only things that appear so due to lack of study.  In James it states God does not tempt any man with evil.  God is not going to tempt anyone to sin against Him because this goes against His righteous nature.  But isn’t asking someone to offer up their child as a sacrifice an evil idea?  God never intended on Abraham actually killing Isaac; God does not approve of human sacrifice (Jeremiah 32:25; Ezekiel 16:20-21).  In Genesis God was testing Abraham to see if he loved God more than anything else, even Isaac; which Abraham passed (Genesis 22: 12, 16-18).
