What does God look like?
This is a very hard question to answer, because no one has ever seen God the Father (John 1:18). No one can see God’s face and live (Exodus 33:20) because we are sinful, and God is holy and righteous. However, the Bible tells us many things about Him that give us a small glimpse of His glory. First of all, God is a spirit (John 4:24), meaning that He does not have flesh like we do. He also has a shape (John 5:37), a face, hands, and back parts (Exodus 33:18-23). Ezekiel saw a vision of God sitting on His throne and said that above the throne was One Whose appearance was like a man, Whose clothes shined like amber (yellow/orange color), the light coming from Him was like fire, and that there was a rainbow surrounding Him (Ezekiel 1:26-28). The apostle John gives us a similar account but adds that God looked like a jasper and a sardine stone (both bright reddish stones; Revelation 4:3). While we do not know for sure just what God the Father looks like, we do know that His presence is awe inspiring and majestic.
