Why can’t we do miracles like we read in the Bible?

The miracles that were done in the Bible were only for the Jews because they require a sign (1 Corinthians 1:22).  Pretty much any time a miracle occurred in the Bible Jews were present.  This was to show them that the people who claimed to be from God was telling the truth.  However, they still refused to believe even with all these signs being done for them (John 10:37-39).  By the end of the Acts period, we see that the sign gifts were taken away from the apostles because the Jews had completely rejected Christ.  Paul stated that all these would fade when that which is perfect is come, which is the Word of God (1 Corinthians 13:10).  This is a very deep discussion and there is not room to discuss it at length here, but I hope this will be a good starting point for further study.
