What language did Adam speak?

Well Adam was so smart that he spoke every language on earth at the time, which was one.  We do not know for certain what language this was.  However, many scholars of the past have argued that it was the Hebrew language.  This theory states that after the Tower of Babel, Abraham’s family had retained this language, while everyone else had their languages changed.  It is argued that Hebrew is the pure language, and this is why God allowed the line leading to Abraham to retain it, since God knew what He was going to do.  The only problem with this is that it is purely speculation.  Again, we do not know what language Adam and pre-Babel people spoke.  Also, why would the original language be kept if God was trying to cause confusion through the languages?  Just some food for thought, but the key is that we really do not know.
