How old is the earth?

Many “scientists” today claim that the earth is 4 billion years old.  However, the Bible expressly states that it is roughly 6000 years old.  So which is right?  There is tons of data that help prove the age of the earth to be 6000 years.  The sun is shrinking at a measurable rate, if it was millions of years old then it would’ve been right on the earth.  The earth’s rotation is slowing down at a measurable rate; if the earth was millions of years old the earth would’ve spun so fast nothing would stay on it.  These are just two examples of how the earth is not millions, let alone billions, of years old.
