Does God pick and choose who is going to Heaven?

There are many people that believe that God has predetermined who is going to Heaven and who is going to Hell.  However this is not what the Bible tells us.  When Jesus died on the cross it was for the sins of the whole world; He paid the price in full for the sins of the human race past, present, and future (1 John 2:1).  Salvation is a free gift from God to every soul on earth (Romans 5:15-17).  However there is a small catch.  Since salvation is a gift, everyone has the choice of whether or not to accept it.  The gift is out there for everyone, but only those who say yes and accept the gift will receive it (Romans 3:22).  So, does God decide if you are going to Heaven or Hell?  Actually, the choice is yours to make.
