Why was Abraham willing to sacrifice Isaac?

God wanted to test Abraham to see if he truly loved and trusted Him (Genesis 22:1).  God asked him to sacrifice Isaac because Isaac was the most beloved thing Abraham had to offer.  But why would Abraham be willing to go along with it?  By this point Abraham had great faith in God and complete trust in Him.  Abraham believed that since Isaac was the seed of promise, and that God wanted Abraham to sacrifice him, that God would raise Isaac from the dead to fulfill the promise God had made concerning him (Hebrews 11:17-19).  This test of faith justified Abraham in his walk with God, showing the world that he truly trusted and believed God (James 2:21-23).
