Why don’t we have to bring sacrifices anymore?

In the Old Testament the sacrifice of an animal was needed to cover ones sins before God.  This was done so they would not face His wrath and judgment (Psalm 85:2).  However, these sacrifices couldn’t take away the sins of the people (Hebrews 10:4).  In order to take away sin from mankind, a sinless person needed to be sacrificed to take our place (Romans 5:18).  When Jesus died He became that perfect sacrifice and was able to take away the sin of everyone in the world (John 1:29).  Since Jesus did not just cover our sins, but paid the price for our sins in full through the sacrifice of Himself, we have our sacrifice already given and no longer need one as they did in the Old Testament (Ephesians 5:2; Hebrews 7:22-28).
