Did God create man or did man create God?

There are many people who believe that mankind evolved from lower lifeforms and early in man’s existence created the concept of gods as a way to control others.  Their proof is that many religions over the years have tried to subdue people and force their submission to them.  However, this is not completely correct.  There is growing evidence that not only the human body, but all of creation is vastly complex with no way of appearing by random chance.  God made everything, including man, and is past our comprehension in power and glory (John 1:1-3).  There are so many proofs of the legitimacy of Christianity and the Bible it would be impossible to list them all.  One thing in the theory that is correct is the fact that pagan religions were created to subdue the people around them.  Nimrod started this at the Tower of Babel to draw people away from worshipping God to worshipping him (Genesis 11:1-11).
