How do we gain favor with God?

While faith is essential for us to be in favor with God, it is not by anything that we have done that grants us this favor.  It is through Christ that we are saved and through Him alone that we are able to enter into the presence of God (Romans 5:8; Ephesians 2:8-9).  It is also through Christ that we receive blessings from God (Ephesians 1:3).  It is also Jesus that maintains our salvation (Jude 1:24-25).  All of these things deal with our relationship with God.  If you want to have God’s favor in your fellowship walk worthy of the vocation you are called and show love to others (Ephesians 4:1-2).  By living our lives in holiness and living in God’s will, we will be blessed above measure; not with earthly riches, but with Heavenly that cannot be taken or destroyed (Matthew 6:19-21).
