Why do people interpret the Bible in different ways?

The main reason that people interpret the Bible in different ways is because they put their own agenda into the Bible.  We are to study the Bible and to rightly divide it (2 Timothy 2:15), meaning that we are to do so in a correct way.  The Bible will interpret itself and there is not any private interpretations within the Bible (2 Peter 1:20); people are not to put their own spins on it.  People fail to do these things correctly and therefore end up with totally different ideas about various scriptures.  If something needs to be interpreted the Bible will do so itself, we don’t need to do it for it (John 9:2).  So when reading and studying the Bible we need to remember that interpretations belong to God, not us (Genesis 40:8).
